1969年生まれ。ローマ在住のコントラバスのソリスト、作曲家。世界各地の著名な音楽祭やホールに出演し、しばしば自作も披露している。ギャヴィン・ブライアーズ、フリオ・エストラーダ、イヴァン・フェデーレ、ハンス・ウェルナー・ヘンツェ、テリー・ライリー、ステファノ・スコダニッビオ、ソフィア・グバイドゥーリナなど、数々の作曲家が彼のために作品を書き、編曲を認めている。スコダニッビオとともにコントラバスのアンサンブル「Ludus Gravis」を設立し、そのソリストと指揮者を務めた。また、作曲家・編曲者・演奏者として、作家・劇作家・俳優のヴィタリアーノ・トレヴィザンとともに数々の作品を手がけた。ローマのサンタ・チェチーリア音楽院の教授を務めるほか、数多くの大学やマスタークラスなどで後進の指導に当たり、しばしば国際コンクールの審査員も務めている。ECM、Wergo、ソニーなどに録音がある。

Born in 1969. Double bass soloist and composer based in Rome. Performing at famous music festivals and music halls all over the world, often playing his own compositions. A great number of composers including Gavin Bryars, Julio Estrada, Ivan Fedele, Hans Werner Henze, Terry Riley, Stefano Scodanibbio, Sofia Gubaidulina composed for him and approved transcriptions by him. Established a double bass ensemble ‘Ludus Gravis’ with Scodanibbio, and performed as a soloist and conductor. Also, worked on numerous pieces of works with Vitaliano Trevisan who was a writer, playwright and actor, and Roccato himself as a composer, arranger and performer. Professor at Conservatoire Santa Cecilia in Rome, as well as teaching young students at various universities and master classes, often invited as a jury for international competitions. Recordings released by ECM, Wergo, and SONY, etc.
